I am a bad blogger. When was the last time you heard from me? A month ago? No, one month and 3 days. That's just sad. You've missed so many of my fall stories! Halloween, Thanksgiving, the Twilight premiere, the Christmas show, the first snow, the long-waited arrival of the pie! How could I do this to you? Sorry! I don't really feel like starting where I left off, so I'll just tell you a little bit about my past month and three days. Halloween was great. Trick or Treating with Caroline W, Caroline P, Ellerey, Kaitlyn and Taylor. A couple of old people asked us to play manhunt with them. Instead, we whipped a Hannah Montana fruit roll-up (yes, it sounds creepy to me too) at them and ran inside, curled around our candy stashes to protect them. Our crazy night was followed up by a sleepover at Caroline W's and crazy dancing to "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Then there was the Twilight Premiere. At 7:15 pm on Friday November 14, Caroline, Shannon, Kathryn, Kendrah, Ashley, Alyssa, Jeffery, Becca, Ali, and I all raced into the local AMC for what I predicted would be my favorite movie ever. I was right. After struggling to find just four empty seats seats (the theater was packed with loyal teen readers, each wearing their Hot Topic Twilight apparel) and watched boring preview after preview until the moment we had been waiting for came. The very second you heard Kristin Stewart recite the Preface almost word for word, the entire audience went wild. Clapping from the mothers, screaming from the girls, and blank stares from their dates. It was not only the best movie I've ever seen, but also the best audience. Four simple words would sum it up: Time of my life. The next big event was Thanksgiving. In the car home from drama club with Caroline W one night, she said that Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday because of the food. I hate Thanksgiving food. Yes, I said it! I can just see your face. Mouth slightly and mindlessly open, not wanting to believe that there is actually someone out there that hates the turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatos, and gravy. Well, that would be me. Okay, I don't hate every Thanksgiving food. I like stuffing! And rolls! And cranberry sauce! And pumpkin pie! Is that enough? And I tried turkey this year. Now I can honestly say that I don't like it. So HA! Go ahead, think I'm crazy. I agree. My Thanksgiving at my cousin's house was also kinda crazy. My youngest cousin has quite the imagination, so when I wasn't watching one of them draw singing frogs, he kept me amused. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Rachel, who's the closest to my age, and I bonded over Teen Vogue and our matching iPods. But yesterday beat it. By a lot. Yesterday was the Christmas Show. It's my favorite dance recital of the year, the one thing that keeps me going during summer dance camp. Backstage at the show is the best. I only had mini snacks, but Stephanie (the beuatiful blondie up there enjoying her birthday party) saved me, exclaiming "I brought BIG food!" How could I live without this girl! She helps me with all the steps I can' t get (which is easily half of them), tells me exactly what to say to the AIM robots to get them on their last nerve, and has been one of my best friends since preschool. It may just be impossible to separate us, especially now that I'm her "personal slave". Only it's more like a "personal slave by will". I'd do anything for Steph, so when she has quick changes, not only do I organize her massive dance bag, I lay out all her costumes, pin in the hair pieces, and fix the seams on her tights. What a fun job I have! In case you didn't notice, that was sarcasm. Or scarcasm as some freakish "crisis intervention" training teacher told Mr.P and Mr. Wright (my amazing English and geo teachers). Apparently you're not supposed to use it in school, but pretty much everything that comes out of Mr. Wright's mouth is sarcastic. Anyway, I got off the important topic of the Christmas show! It went really well. I always panic before I go on, because I can never remember the first step. Once I hear the music though, I put all my trust in my clumsy feet, which is like betting on a sick (or dead) horse to win the Kentucky Derby. But somehow, they never let me down. And in my new black tap shoes, I felt like I could actually do it! When I walked through the crowded hallway after the show, I heard exclaims of "SNOW!" We were having our first snowfall of the year. How fitting is that? The sign of Christmas after the Christmas show. When I got home, I tore out my bun, fluffed my hair to it's fullest potential, and sprinted down the stairs to eat my long-awaited chocolate cream pie. I've been waiting TWO MONTHS for this pie! I ordered it from Julia in September and it came in a day before Thanksgiving. This pie was worth the wait! And I'm sure that you feel that this amazing blog entry was too. =)December 1, 2008
The Show, The Snow, and the Pie
