Hey there stranger

It's been exactly 14 months since I last blogged. That's 426 days. Yeah...sorry about that. Anyway, theres a reason I started blogging again: I got a new laptop! Welcome to the world of blogging, my Macbook Pro. You better get used to it. A lot has happened in the past year. A lot of stuff you don't care about that I'm going to tell you anyway. I finished another year of school, got a haircut (5 inches of hair on the floor later...), discovered a love of Starbucks mocha frapachinos (a case of them now sits in my refrigerator at all times), broke up with my boyfriend, got back together, broke up again, got back together again, and broke up...again (yay for confusing relationships), got a new boyfriend, survived a year of classes with some of the worst teachers I've ever been forced to endure, found out my best friend is going to boarding school in another state, threw her an epic surprise going-away party with 40 guests, did 5 shows, and lived my life. There's a lot more, but I figure that will catch you up with my world well enough for now(: Oh, did you notice the new design of my blog? I'm a fan of it. So for the next school year- which is coming up a lot faster than I'd like- I'll do my very best to blog as much as I can, whenever I can. Who knows what will happen?

Carnival Fun

Ah, carnivals. The carnies and rides they bring. The food, the friends, the fun they induce! Our town had a little carnival this weekend, and surprisingly it was great. On account of the lack of money this place has, (as my friend Caroline texted me while exploring a fancy boarding school yesterday "our town is a step above poverty"), I was certainly not expecting the carnival to be all that exciting. Kudos to all the volunteers that made it happen! So I met up with a large group of friends and we went on almost every single ride Friday night. We even went to the nearby playground where I discovered I was still not tall enough to reach the monkey bars. How sad. Oh, and I must tell you about "The Sizzler". The Sizzler is a ride for insane people that like pain. You sit in a little compartment thing with one or two other people and it spins you round and round, but whenever you go around a corner, you slam into the person on your right. And if your on the right end, then you'll come off the ride with a large bruise on your hip. Painful as it may be, I went on it four times! Hahah =D. So that was all Friday, and I planned on staying in for the day on Saturday, maybe get a little homework done, who knows. Well that didn't happen. I kept getting texts from people asking me if I was going to see the fireworks that were going to be going off at the carnival. Eventually, I went over to Caroline W's where her, Caroline P, and I all hung out for a while making odd music videos until we left to return to the beloved carnival. We get there and ride a few rides before Caroline W's friends start yelling at her to get the playground right that very second or else. So the three of us sprint over there, pushing past crowds of people staring at the fireworks like they've never seen anything so amazing in their life, and who do we run into on the run over? Our little group from last night! In the end, it turned out to be just like Friday, the same people, the same rides, and just as much fun. Only I sprained my toe. Hahaha oh klutzy me. But whatever, the swelling has gone down a bit, and I'm able to hobble along. Although it didn't help when Joey, an extremely tall friend of mine who towers over my by a good foot and a half, stepped on the same toe. Ouuuchh!

UPDATE: I ended up breaking my toe. I blame Joey...

Wait and See

Oh school, how I cannot wait until you are over. Until I no longer have to endure your teachings and put up with the freaks you contain. Please, school, end now!! Oh well, seeing as that is not going to happen this week, I'll tell you about yesterday, which I would have told you about yesterday if I didn't have to explain the past few months. So we had a field trip to the town's elementary school where we taught transition kids (aka 6-year-olds who weren't mature enough for first grade) and fifth graders about protagonists and antagonists! Fun, right? Well, sorta. The fifth graders just stared at us like we were telling them that we had colonized the moon ourselves. Just a little bit annoying when they seem to take no interest in a project that you're getting a grade on. The transition kids were wicked fun though. They were all hyper and adorable, and actually wanted to learn about what we had to teach them! Although we did make one of them cry. He was this really shy boy named Timothy, and he didn't come up when we were passing out prizes, so we didn't realize that he hadn't gotten a teddy bear! Unfortunately, we were one short on the stuffed animals, so he started crying. I gave him a "special" key chain from our school and a bunch of pencils, but he kept crying. So one of my group members went and got some prizes from the other group teaching the kids. I tried to give him those, but he kept crying. Then the teacher called him to her desk, but he kept crying! It was so sad! Except for poor little Timothy, the little rug rats were awesome! After our lesson, they put their teddy bears on their chairs, so the whole room was full of stuffed animals sitting at desks! Awwww! It kind of makes me think of what I want to do with my life. I'm pretty set on being an actress, but what about a teacher? Without teachers, what would we know? They teach us how to read, add, subtract, everything! And quite frankly, they get no where near the recognition they deserve. Who knows, what the future holds for me, or anyone. We'll just have to wait and see...

Two Months is Too Long

April....May....gone, and no me, right? Yeah, sorry about that! My hectic life has been, well, just that! Finally things have slowed down, and it feels great to get back to the blog! I've really missed typing up the events of the day or week or, in this case, months. I Never Saw Another Butterfly has come and gone, and it was amazing! Competition was great, as were the rest of our performances. I'm so happy for our cast, everyone did fantastic! Another thing you haven't heard about: Bugsy Malone! Yup, that's over, too. A fun little musical where I played the girlfriend of my actual boyfriend. Hahaha, weird right? But it was fun. Hmmmmm what else have you missed...projects, tests, quizzes, annoying teachers, annoying peers, you know, all that typical school stuff? That's all over soon though, thank goodness! 7 more days. Then we're done. For the '08 -'09 year anyway. I think it's been a pretty great 9 months. With the exception of one freakish teacher, two failed relationships and some late nights with lots of homework, nothing went terribly wrong. While my personal life may have slowed down with the ending of drama and dance (by the way, the recital was fabulous as usual), the school year has showed no hint of calming. I've got two tests, the finishing of a book, a student-written play, and a bunch of other stuff to go! Arggh! But we'll get by, and the year will finish on a good note, I've just got that feeling. =D

The New Best Night Ever

6:34 pm. We're walking into the dance, wishing to have the time of our lives. I guess wishes do come true. I declare March 13, 2009 as The New Best Night Ever. What is the reason for this, you may ask? It's just a school dance with a bunch of hyper kids (thanks to the $1 sodas), right? No. It is not just that. It's the place where you have the time of your life surrounded by your best friends. And then comes the slow songs, where I danced with the most amazing guy I have ever met. Okay, so enough of this sappy stuff. The dance was the best, I had a really great time. I know, I haven't blogged for a month. Fine, more than a month. But I've been busy! Preparations for the drama club's state competition have been stealing much of my time, and the rest has been consumed by frequent trips to the mall (as you can see to the left, with me, Jen J, and Rachel wearing stalker hats in Target), and piles of homework. In other news, I did get that iTouch! =D It's been glued to my hand for weeks now. The thing is amazing! Anyway, the snow has almost all melted away and I really want to go ride my bike around the neighborhood with Caroline. Sadly it's still 40 degrees and I'm not in the mood to face the cold right now. (: But it's March, and that means spring is on the way! Hopefully no more big Monday snow storms! I pretty much missed the entire ski season, only going cross country once. I fell down about 8 times over the course of 2 hours. Now, that is just sad. Well, this has turned out to be a short post. And, yes, I will work on blogging more!

A Day, a Night, a Party

One more day until my birthday! One more day! =D Last night was my masquerade party, a spectacular event where girls in fancy dresses and black high heels played karaoke, guitar hero, and danced to Fall Out Boy and Britney Spears. At 11 pm, it was hard to believe that the party really had happened, but the proof was the 7 new shirts in my closet. The only masqueradeish part was us wearing the masks. But can you blame me?! I needed an excuse to wear my beautiful new dress. So everyone was there, the food was out, the music was on, and the party was starting. Slightly awkward at first, but it worked out. Caroline P (cooking101withcaroline.blogspot.com) decorated my melting ice cream cake. That girl has some serious frosting skills! Her fondant mask came out amazing, and surprisingly tasted good. I thought it was supposed to taste like cardboard. It's what they use on that show "Ace of Cakes" all the time. I love that show. Hahah anyway, thanks to all my friends for my fantastic party. Luv you guys. Onto a slightly different topic...my birthday is tomorrow! Whooo! An ipod touch is on my list. The whole "iphone without the phone" thing really appeals to me. So today is the Super Bowl, and I'll be at Caroline's for a party. I never watch the Super Bowl, just the commercials. They're usually pretty stupid, but funny and keep me entertained. Oh, today's Ali's birthday, so a birthday shout out to her! =)
